Description

Certis Solutions is seeking a qualified Biological Monitor to work in the San Ramon, CA office for projects across the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a seasonal position expected to continue through October/November, weather permitting.


Pay Range: $25-35/hr


Must Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently pursuing) in biology, wildlife ecology, environmental science, or a related natural resource field.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and statutes such as CEQA/NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Clean Water Act, and Fish and Game Code.
  • Experience with Scientific Collection Permits and Endangered Species 10(a)(1)(A) permits is highly desired.
  • Previous experience in biological construction monitoring is preferred.
  • Proven field experience identifying California flora and fauna.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, independent, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable transportation to access various field sites is necessary.

  • Biological Surveys and Monitoring: Conduct surveys and monitor sensitive biological resources and special-status species during construction projects.
  • Compliance Inspections: Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with all resource agency permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination: Liaise effectively with project team members, construction supervisors, and crew members to facilitate environmental compliance.
  • Environmental Training: Provide essential environmental compliance training to construction crews.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed daily field monitoring reports.
