Project Manager

Certis Solutions is seeking a Project Manager with heavy civil and wastewater experience. 

  • Head project handoff activities between estimator and project management team.
  • Prepare CPM project schedule.
  • Prepare and issue subcontracts and purchase orders with vendors.
  • Manage vendor submittal and RFI process. Ensure vendors meet submission and procurement deadlines.
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs.
  • Recognize and capture all extra work and scope changes on projects. Develop extra work cost proposals and supervise field documentation of force account processes by foremen.

Compensation: $95,000.00 – $150,000.00, with bonus earning potential for eligible employees.

Project Engineer (Bakersfield)

Must Have Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in construction management or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in vertical construction project management or engineering, preferably in commercial, multi-family, industrial, institutional, agricultural, or aerospace building construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, and Build Pro.

PROJECT INITIATION

  • Facilitate the initial setup of the project within Procore Construction Management Software
  • Input initial cost worksheet and Submittal Log under Project Manager guidance and approval.
  • Aid in drafting contracts alongside the PM.
  • Prepare the project setup for PM review.
  • Compile and draft procurement schedule for long lead items.
  • Coordinate distribution of “For Construction” Documents

DAILY ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

  • Support PM in overall project coordination.
  • Generate transmittals for all outgoing correspondence and project documents.
  • Record and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Ensure timely submission of procurement for long lead items.
  • Prepare Change Management documentation including RFI’s, RFP’s, COR’s, CO’s, and CIC’s for PM review before dispatch
  • Update construction schedule (PM drafting)
  • Research and validate RFI’s, consulting with the superintendent, and draft for PM review.
  • Prepare progress billing drafts for PM review and approval.
  • Monitor and ensure field updates for As-Builts
  • Coordinate shop drawings and plan revisions with relevant subcontractors.

ADDITIONAL OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • Organize and maintain project documents.
  • Update office As-Builts to reflect current conditions based on RFI’s, Bulletins, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite

PROJECT CLOSEOUT

  • Manage punch lists.
  • Compile As-Builts
  • Assist in the completion of O&M manuals and warranty documentation.

Estimator

Certis Solutions is looking for an Estimator/ Project Manager for a general engineering contractor that constructs civil construction projects for local, state and federal agencies. 

Responsibilities:

· Procure contracts for civil construction projects.

· Search public agency websites for projects advertised to bid.

· Obtain and review bid documents to develop take-offs and a thorough understanding of the scope of work.

· Solicit and secure quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and miscellaneous vendors.

· Prepare and submit questions to the owner prior to bid.

· Assemble a complete, detailed estimate.

· Submit bids/proposals.

· Serve as the primary point of contact with the Owner/Agency when awarded a contract.
· Obtain bonds and insurance certificates specified for contract.

· Produce a CPM project schedule.

· Write purchase orders and subcontracts.

· Prepare all submittals required by the contract.

· Coordinate the work details and sequence with field staff.

· Produce itemized monthly pay applications.

· Monitor job costs, scheduled progress.

· Produce RFIs and change orders as needed during construction.

· Administer contract closeout activities.

 

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating public works projects in addition to minimum 5 years of experience managing public works projects.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe; Estimating software such as Sharpesoft or HCSS; Scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Compensation: $130,000-$150,000
