Certis Solutions is seeking an Estimator to help launch and grow a new service line focused on earthwork, grading, and underground construction. As part of a well-established construction firm with a long-standing reputation in structural concrete, you’ll be at the forefront of expanding operations into sitework and excavation. This is an exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up, leveraging brand new equipment and a strong support team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for earthwork, grading, demolition, and underground utility projects (budgets from $50K–$3M)
- Review project plans, specs, and proposals to develop comprehensive cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure accurate and competitive bids
- Analyze project risks, scope, and scheduling impacts
- Utilize estimating software (Agtek, HCSS, or similar) to generate takeoffs and quantities
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations with company leadership
- Coordinate with union crews and subcontractors to gather pricing and ensure project feasibility
- Stay current with market trends, labor rates, and material costs to maintain competitive estimates
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator for heavy civil, grading, or underground projects
- Knowledge of earthwork, grading, excavation, and underground construction practices
- Familiarity with Agtek (or similar) for takeoffs and quantity calculations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with internal and external partners
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit project sites as needed
Preferences:
- Previous experience with demolition or environmental sitework is a plus
- Ability to work independently and build out new processes in a growing division
- Experience estimating union projects is helpful but not required

Salary Range: $100,000 – 120,000/year
