Project Engineer (Commercial HVAC)

Certis Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer to provide support for multiple mechanical construction projects, focusing on new construction and unit replacement work, including school facilities. This is a fully in-office position in the El Dorado Hills area. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in commercial HVAC projects and a strong understanding of project scope, schedule, and budget management.

Pay Range: $70,000 – 80,000/year Depending on Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Support project managers by coordinating and tracking project documentation, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Assist with the preparation of submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and project closeout materials.
  • Monitor project progress and flag potential scope, schedule, or budget issues.
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage administrative aspects for 6 to 8 active projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $50K to $500K in value.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting commercial HVAC construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical project workflows.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
  • Ability to support multiple projects at different stages of completion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic project management software tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • No degree required.

Preferences:

  • Experience supporting commercial HVAC projects involving schools or public works.
  • Prior experience with mechanical contractors or construction firms handling mid-sized projects.
