Certis Solutions is seeking a Wildlife Biologist with approximately 4 years of field experience who is ready to transition into a hybrid project?support role. This Project Coordinator position is designed for professionals who’ve supported permit compliance in the field and are now excited to lead project administration, contracting, and scheduling in support of Project Management staff and field compliance outcomes.
Pay Range: $35-40/hr DOE
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2–4+ years as a wildlife biologist or biological monitor implementing permit compliance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel (scheduling, task tracking, resource coordination)
- Experience with contract setup, task orders, and change orders
- Understanding of field?based permit compliance protocols for CEQA/NEPA and Northern CA regulatory bodies.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with PMs, field staff, and clients
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or related field
Key Responsibilities
- Help prepare status updates for internal and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain project schedules using Excel
- Prepare, track, and manage contracts, task orders, and change orders
- Coordinate with field teams to support permit?driven compliance efforts
- Assist with document control and project file organization
- Support project managers with budgeting, invoicing, and scope adjustments
- Monitor deliverables and maintain records for regulatory and client reporting
- Partner with field personnel to review compliance needs and site coordination
Preferred Qualifications
- Biological field experience on construction or restoration projects
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal permit frameworks (e.g., CDFW, USFWS)
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
