Job Title: Structural Engineer – Tinker AFB

Job Description:

As a Structural Engineer at Tinker AFB, you will:

  • Serve as the structural engineering subject matter expert, designing and directing the development of construction drawings and specifications for civil and structural engineering systems for new and existing structures.
  • Evaluate projects to determine the most appropriate and economical systems to serve a facility.
  • Oversee the preparation of, or prepare, original design and preliminary and final layout of civil/structural projects, including size, capacity, and economy.
  • Participate in final on-site inspections.
  • Perform contract-related services such as writing scopes of work, conducting site surveys, selecting contractors, negotiating, monitoring construction performance, designing products, reviewing internal and external A/E designs, and evaluating, inspecting, and accepting bids.
  • Prepare detailed independent government estimates for obtaining project funding and bid evaluation, and prepare complete construction document packages suitable for construction contract advertisement.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Structural).
  • Previous structural engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • A commitment to being an active participant in a collaborative and dynamic work culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • A minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience (SE).
  • Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities.
  • Knowledge of the International Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
