Safety Manager

Certis Solutions is seeking a qualified SAFETY MANAGER with the following background:

·        Civil Construction experience.

·        Minimum 5 years’ experience developing and managing safety programs.

·        CHST certificate or achievable within 1 year.

·        Proven experience working with union and salaried personnel.

  • Teach, coach and mentor employees regarding the company’s safety culture and practices.
  • Promote safety awareness by working with supervisors during daily jobsite evaluations.
  • Implement and enforce company safety policies through personal interaction with project teams, field supervisors, and employees on jobsites.
  • Train employees and supervisors on safety topics.
  • Assist with annual training requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys to evaluate safety program implementation & compliance.
  • Review safety documentation (safety meetings and inspections, incident reports, pictures, traffic control, etc.).
  • Proactively identify hazards to prevent harm to employees, equipment, and the environment.
  • Attendance at daily safety meetings, providing safety training and increased awareness.
  • Assist with investigation and proactive management of workers compensation, asset, and general liability claims.
  • Investigate & document incidents, accidents and near misses at the scene.
  • Prepare and maintain safety records and reports.
