Certis Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer in the Sacramento or San Jose area with the following qualifications:
Pay Range: $35-40/hr
Must Have Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Valid California Driver?s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to understand and interpret construction plans and specifications relevant to inspection duties.
- Capability to work outdoors for extended periods and lift and transport at least 50 pounds for short distances.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate proficiently with others.
- Willingness to travel to project locations throughout California, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding counties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Field Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, document, analyze, and report field data, including construction observation and testing for compliance with plans and specifications, field sampling, and geotechnical/geological logging.
- Task Management: Manage assigned tasks, including computer drafting, report writing, and providing general support to mid- and senior-level engineers and geologists.
- Independent Work: Capable of completing tasks independently with basic supervision, demonstrating a strong desire to learn and contribute to the team.
- Technical Development: As experience and technical judgment increase, responsibilities may expand to include scope and fee development, client interaction, laboratory test data review, and project coordination and management.
Project Types
- Work on a variety of projects including education, healthcare, public works, transportation, solar, and water-related projects in the Greater Sacramento area, San Francisco Bay Area, and surrounding counties.

Preferences
- Preference for candidates who are registered as an Engineer-in-Training or ready to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam upon hiring.
- Academic focus on soil mechanics/geotechnical engineering is advantageous.
- Preferred qualifications include 1 to 2 years of experience, nuclear gauge safety certification, nuclear density gauge experience, 40-hour HAZWOPER training, ACI certification, although these are not required.
