Must Have Qualifications

  • 5-15+ years of Geology project experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • PG License highly preferred. GIT only may be considered with adequate work experience and willingness to obtain PG within one year of start.

Senior Geologist

Certis Solutions is seeking a qualified Senior Geologist with extensive experience in environmental investigation and remediation activities.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in geology, geosciences, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in environmental investigation and remediation activities, including borehole logging, environmental sample collection, reporting, project management, proposal preparation, and business development
  • Willingness and ability to travel, with up to a 60/40 field-to-office based ratio to support multiple projects and train junior geologists
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Significant drilling oversight experience, including hollow stem auger, DPT, and sonic rigs
  • Experience in designing, developing, and sampling groundwater monitoring wells
  • Experience in developing UFP-QAPP and other Federal project documents
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Top Skills / Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight, training, mentorship, and direction for junior and intermediate-level geologists in both field and office environments, under the supervision of the Principal Geologist
  • Perform fieldwork as assigned
  • Oversee drilling and other subcontractors
  • Conduct lithologic logging of soil to USCS standards and interpretation of geologic depositional environments and hydrogeologic conditions
  • Perform sampling of environmental media (soil, soil vapor, groundwater, sediment, surface water, etc.)
  • Collect and document data related to field activities
  • Travel to project locations, including driving, air travel, and overnight stays
  • Analyze and interpret field data
  • Update and prepare work plans
  • Prepare boring logs, implementation reports, and other technical reports
  • Perform data entry and QA/QC of data tables, figures, and reports
  • Provide senior review of work plans, data reports, boring logs, and other documents prepared by junior staff
  • Manage projects and procure subcontractors
  • Prepare technical approach summaries and cost estimates for proposals

Mid-Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

Certis Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to join our Sacramento, CA office and become an integral member of our team.

Pay Range: $35-48/hr DOE 

Key Responsibilities

  • Field work including soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling and construction observation
  • Hands-on operating and maintenance of remediation systems
  • AutoCAD Drawings and GIS Mapping
  • Geologic / hydrogeologic / engineering data analysis and interpretation
  • Preparation of technical report

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS / MS in Civil / Environmental and/or Civil Engineering or Geology from ABET accredited university
  • Engineer/Geologist in Training Certification (EIT/GIT) preferred, with goal to obtain PE/PG
  • Entry level (4 to 10 years’ experience) with work experience related to federal CERCLA site investigation, design, construction, operation, and monitoring of remediation equipment and systems
  • Strong analytical, organization and communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills are a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-starter and motivated to do high quality work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Willing to travel locally and out of the area as necessary
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
  • 40 hour HAZWOPPER training, preferred

Staff Geologist

Certis Solutions is seeking a qualified STAFF GEOLOGIST with the following background:

Be part of our dynamic team as a Staff Geologist in Environmental Consulting. We're on the lookout for a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to collaborate closely with project managers on various environmental projects in the Sacramento area.

Pay Range: $25-33/hr DOE

Must Have Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental geology
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification – or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Effective multi-tasking and prioritization

Top Skills / Key Job Responsibilities

        Ability to perform environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations and remedial designs, and monitoring projects;

        Field work, including soil and groundwater sample collection and preparation for lab analysis

        Preparation of soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, potentiometric surface maps, geologic cross sections, site sample and plume maps, work plans and reports

        Ability to work collaboratively with project management and field staff

        Laboratory and hydrogeologic data management

        Permit management experience

Preferences:

·        Prior experience with OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

·        Familiarity with permit management processes is a plus.

·        Any additional certifications or training related for environmental projects advantageous.
