Certis Solutions is seeking a qualified UNDERGROUND SUPERINTENDENT with the following background:



Must Have Qualifications

  • A qualified person for this position will have 10 years of construction experience in underground utilities – water, sewer, and storm.
  • Experience with project management software/accounting software or other construction related software.
  • Some experience with both private and public sector

Top Skills / Key Job Responsibilities

  • Reports to Operations Manager and works in collaboration with project management/estimating team so that projects are completed on time.
  • Works with field staff such as foreman to provide support for daily operations for labor, equipment, materials & trucking.
  • Responsible for maintaining visibility and tracking all materials and trucking utilized by the underground department.
  • processing daily paperwork and processing invoices reviewing for quantity and pricing accuracy.
  • This role will also be responsible for performing cost studies and/or production plans as needed to support accurate cost visibility for performance and adjustment assessment as needed.
  • supporting the daily and weekly operations including the scheduling of workers and the delivery of equipment and materials.
  • Collaborates with the project management team to complete projects within the given budget and time frame.
  • Maintain a 3 week look ahead schedule for the project.
  • Supports assigned project work and liaises between field engineering, estimating, and workforce to ensure project compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews and understands the project specifications to support job set up activities.
  • Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.
  • Coordinates with internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within the assigned budget and schedule.
  • Coordinates with internal and external departments to ensure all mandated inspections are completed within requested timeframes.
  • Supports and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company values and strategic plan.
