Certis Solutions is actively seeking a highly qualified Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for an impactful USACE project in Asheville, NC. This role offers the chance to lead safety operations for a critical potable water treatment plant renovation and ensure continuous, around-the-clock compliance with water quality standards.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of safety experience in construction or industrial settings
• Prior experience with water treatment plants highly preferred
• USACE or other Federal project experience required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Current EM-385 and OSHA 30 certifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work the night shift 

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Oversight & Compliance: Ensure all safety practices align with EM-385-1-1, OSHA standards, and USACE regulations.
• Training & Safety Enforcement: Conduct site safety training, lead toolbox talks, and ensure all personnel follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Perform daily site safety inspections, conduct job hazard analyses (JHA), and proactively address any identified risks.
• Incident Management & Documentation: Investigate and document incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain detailed safety records in accordance with federal standards.
• Reporting & Coordination: Submit daily and weekly safety reports and participate in all USACE-required safety meetings.
