Certis Solutions is hiring a career path minded Soil Technician in the North Bay to support solid waste, mining, civil infrastructure, and environmental remediation projects. This full-time, long term role involves field testing, sampling, and documentation at various active job sites across the western states. All travel expenses are covered for trips of 1-2+ months at a time throughout the 2025 field work season and beyond with opportunities for mentorship and promotion.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable with travel and extended fieldwork
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a pre-employment physical & drug screening

Top Skills/Key Job Responsibilities

• Perform field testing (compaction, permeability, moisture-density, etc.)
• Observe and document geosynthetic liner installation and contractor activities
• Conduct soil and groundwater sampling
• Use GPS equipment to record test locations
• Assist in preparing construction completion reports
• Support environmental monitoring and quality assurance efforts

Preferences

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER and/or MSHA Part 48 certifications
• Familiarity with nuclear density gauges, permeameters, and groundwater sampling techniques
• Experience on landfill, mine, or hazardous waste sites
