Certis Solutions is actively seeking an experienced Project Engineer for an important federal project located in Asheville, NC. This role will play a key part in the renovation and operation of a potable water treatment plant, ensuring the project runs smoothly, meets quality standards, and complies with federal and USACE requirements. This position requires hands-on involvement in coordinating project tasks, managing documentation, and supporting the project team to maintain 24/7 operational goals.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Project engineering experience in construction or industrial settings
  • Experience with water treatment plant projects is highly preferred
  • USACE or other Federal project experience required
  • Good with submittals, change orders, and RMS 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and familiarity with USACE standards

Top Skills / Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination of all project activities, including scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation, to ensure project milestones are met on time.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, prepare daily and weekly reports, and provide updates to project stakeholders, including management and USACE representatives.
  • Technical Support: Assist in technical planning and execution, support quality control teams, and ensure construction methods meet USACE standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure adherence to EM-385-1-1, OSHA, and USACE standards, as well as project-specific requirements.
  • Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Identify potential issues early in the project cycle, communicate these to the project team, and work to implement timely solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in project meetings, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and provide support for effective project communication and teamwork.
