As a Grading & Paving Leadman, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing daily operations, managing crews, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction of asphalt pavements and grading.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random tests.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Strong technical skills in asphalt paving and compaction operations.
• Good communication skills.
• Effective leadership and team management skills.
• Valid driver’s license issued within the United States, clear of multiple and/or major violations.
• Must live or be willing to relocate to within 1 hour of the Safford, AZ area.

• Operate paving equipment, including screed, and facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
• Verify measurements, slope, and thickness for compliance with plans, utilizing electronic grade and slope controls.
• Safety monitoring and training of employees.
• Layout, placement, and compaction of materials.
• Monitoring quality control.
• Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers.
• Read and relay job-related information from work orders, plans, or contracts to crews.
• Correctly calculate and order job materials when necessary.

Preferences:

• Experience working in similar construction projects around the Safford, AZ area.
• Familiarity with local suppliers and contractors.
• Additional certifications in paving or construction safety are a plus.
