Certis Solutions is looking for a Civil Estimator to join our team. This role is key in the preconstruction phase, responsible for estimating project costs and preparing bid proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
Must Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in civil estimating with a solid understanding of construction costs and processes
Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage, and other estimating software
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents for cost estimation
Perform accurate quantity surveys for sitework, earthwork, and utilities using OST
Create precise estimates at schematic, conceptual, and construction document stages
Review and validate bids and maintain subcontractor engagement throughout the bid process
Interpret geotechnical and environmental reports and assess site data for cost impacts
Prepare detailed bid scopes, subcontractor tabulations, and backup bid documents
Use Sage and estimating tools to transfer quantities and manage project data
Assist in developing project schedules and perform site visits to identify cost/time impacts
Present estimates to management and customers, ensuring clarity and professionalism
Enhance estimating practices to maintain competitiveness and profitability
Preferences
Experience with large-scale civil construction projects
Familiarity with additional estimating software tools (e.g., Building Connected)
Strong problem-solving and time management skills
