Certis Solutions is looking for a Civil Estimator to join our team. This role is key in the preconstruction phase, responsible for estimating project costs and preparing bid proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.

Must Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Proven experience in civil estimating with a solid understanding of construction costs and processes

• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage, and other estimating software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Top Skills/Key Job Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents for cost estimation

• Perform accurate quantity surveys for sitework, earthwork, and utilities using OST

• Create precise estimates at schematic, conceptual, and construction document stages

• Review and validate bids and maintain subcontractor engagement throughout the bid process

• Interpret geotechnical and environmental reports and assess site data for cost impacts

• Prepare detailed bid scopes, subcontractor tabulations, and backup bid documents

• Use Sage and estimating tools to transfer quantities and manage project data

• Assist in developing project schedules and perform site visits to identify cost/time impacts

• Present estimates to management and customers, ensuring clarity and professionalism

• Enhance estimating practices to maintain competitiveness and profitability
